Just a few days after our last snow day, we were all hanging out in the back yard in shorts and t-shirts digging for worms. Chad dug up the pavers that were at the end of the deck because construction on our addition was to start soon (FYI: it's started!!!). Here are a few pics of the kids and worms.

Snow Day #3
March 1st... all of us are excited because Spring is on its way. That is, until we wake up the next morning with an inch and a half of snow on the ground, freezing temperatures, and wind to go with it! Of course they closed down the schools -- although Chad had to go to work still. Poor Isaac missed out because he was sick and slept most of the day. But Olivia and Ezren enjoyed themselves, and I had a blast with the camera! Here is Ezren hanging out:
I thought it was pretty cool that they trees were just starting to bloom and WHAM! here comes winter again. So, I took some up close shots of the trees covered in icy snow.

Innaguration Day
On January 20th, 2009 Raleigh had the most viewers of the Presidential Election of any city in the U.S. Not really surprising if you check out the weather we had. In total we accumulated 6 inches of snow (in our town at least) -- which shut down the schools and a good chunk of the businesses in the area. It was brilliant and fun and wonderful! Here are some pictures of us enjoying the snow:
Here are the three munchkins. When we first went outside, it was still early -- 8:30 AM and the snow was still falling, although lightly. As we stayed out, it really picked up and turned into these big, lovely flakes! We were surprised that only one other family was outside playing -- a family from NY who probably desperately miss the snow!
Chad and Olivia enjoyed a good snowball fight! All of us got in on the action (after the camera was put away, of course!). I think we all had snow in our shoes and shirts!
Here is Isaac hanging out in our neighbor's yard.
We don't get a lot of snow out here (duh!), so what's the point in buying a sled? Chad had to improvise and use a sheet of foam insulation! Our street ends in a cul-de-sac with a huge hill. Chad took Ezren down to "sled" on it. When the insulation came to a stop, Ezren did not and kept sliding for another good 10 feet!
And here's one more picture from January. Olivia had her annual gymnastics performance on the 31st. She was awesome! Here she is at home before we left.
