One of the things I really like about Chad is his ability to do mechanical things.
I guess that's why he's a mechanical engineer.
Over Memorial Weekend he changed the brakes on both of the cars.
It was painful to watch.
He had to keep running to the store for this piece or that.
Little issues kept popping up. Isn't that inevitable though?
The van brakes are disc brakes (which I've learned are far easier that the alternative) and those went relatively quickly.
The drum brakes on the car are a different story.
It took him two half days to get them done.
I helped a little.
By helping, I mean, I sat in the car and pressed the brakes to bleed them.
I've done car work before . . . it's just not my thing.
Chad has a plethora of tools.
Mutlitple sets in both standard and metric.
Most of them came from his late brother, Carey.
It's a very good thing he has these because it was necessary to keep trying varying sizes of sockets and wrenches.
It seems that there aren't any standards when they build cars.
The left and right sides used different sizes.
Isn't it counterproductive to do that?
I'm just glad the brakes are done.
No more squealing while picking up the kids from school.
And just in time for the kids and my impending partial cross country trip. {more on that later!}
Thank you, Chad!
