Yesterday I told you about how we made the sugar cookie dough.
Today I'll tell you about what we did with that dough.
A couple of weeks ago I saw this post on Cheeky Kitchen.
Ah, ha! So, that's how you make those niftly little cookies you see at the store with the pictures inside!
This will be my new favorite sugar cookie design.
We used her instructions to create our Easter cookies.
We had four blobs of colored dough plus a lot of the colorless dough.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' . . . Get that dough a rollin'!
We stacked up the dough snakes into a larger tube and then covered it with rolled out flat plain dough.
While that was in the freezer chilling, we rolled out a few more colored snakes, stacked them together, and then rolled them flat to cut out cookie cutter shapes.
And we decorated plain colored dough with little bits of colors.
We took the roll out of the freezer and started slicing.
I'm not sure if 20 minutes was enough (or perhaps my knife was too dull), but it seemed a bit too soft still.
Next time I'll leave it in for longer.
Pop in the oven, and *poof*, you've got yourself some springtime sugar cookie goodness!
