Stop and Smell the Roses

A few years ago while playing with the kids in the back yard, I discovered two roses growing in our really-needs-to-be-weeded-and-cleaned-out side yard (it has since been taken care of, I promise!).
I called Chad at work, but he didn't believe me.
Then he saw them, and the next weekend we proceeded to transplant them to the north side of the house.
Now, I know what you're thinking -- roses on the north side?  For real?
But this north is just far enough away from the house that it's really more like the south side of our neighbor's yard (except it's still on our side of the fence).

Yes, those are a purpleish lavender color.

They smell absolutely divine!
